Benefits to SWE Orange County
Sponsorship funds allow our section to have the resources needed to fulfill our mission
of empowering women to achieve their full potential in careers as engineers and
leaders. Funding provides programs and events throughout the year along with
equipment and supplies to keep our section running. This includes but is not limited to
the following:
Professional Development
- Professional Development speakers and workshops
- Professional Development Conference (PDC)
- Partnerships with organizations with similar missions, e.g. Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) SWE Los Angeles, SWE San Diego
Outreach
- STEM content for hundreds of Orange County Girl Scouts (Coding for Good, Welding, Woodworking, Robotics, etc.)
- Vital Link partnerships (Industry Advisory Boards, career nights)
- School district partnerships (Science Fair judging, Ask-a-Scientist Nights)
- Orange County Regional FIRST Robotics Competition
- SWE collegiate training, support, and mentorship
Community and Inclusion
- Member recognition spotlight
- Social & community building events
- Hikes, beach clean ups, kid-friendly events for SWE working moms
- End of Year Banquet (Scholarship & Certificate of Merit recognition)
